Maupay aimed a dig at the club on X last week, saying: 'Whenever I'm having a bad day I just check the Everton score and smile'. The Toffees had been beaten 2-0 by Nottingham Forest earlier that day but Dyche claims the club will take no disciplinary action against their on-loan striker as there is a "bigger picture" to focus on at the club.

Maupay signed for Everton from Brighton but scored one goal in 32 appearances during an unhappy stint on Merseyside. He was loaned out to Brentford last season and is temporarily at Marseille for the 2024-25 campaign, but that has not stopped him firing jibes at the club on social media.
AFPWHAT DYCHE SAID
Dyche was seemingly not bothered by Maupay's comments, saying: "I think it's fair to say there's a bigger picture to Everton Football Club that I'm focusing on. I don't think I need to be too worried by his comments. I don't think we'll be worried about [disciplinary action]."
WHAT NEXT FOR EVERTON AND MAUPAY?
Maupay's contract with Everton concludes this summer so it is highly unlikely that he will ever appear for the club again. The Toffees will instead be focused on rebuilding under the new Friedkin Group ownership, with Dyche aiming to maintain their Premier League status ahead of a move into a new stadium next season.
